A New Destination Centered Around Food and Shared Experiences

Located on the second and third floors of YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai Rinko Park, CRAZY GRANDE MAISON is an immersive dining destination created by wedding company CRAZY, Inc. As the brand’s first venture in this new format, it brings together a restaurant, chapel, banquet hall, and cafe under one roof. Guided by the brand concept, “Immersive Table,” the space was designed to deliver emotionally engaging experiences through not only food, but also the atmosphere and carefully curated moments that surround it.

From the entrance, visitors are guided through a deliberately dimly lit, enclosed approach that leads to a chapel filled with soft natural light and a banquet space overlooking Yokohama Harbor. By creating a strong contrast between the approach and the spaces beyond, the design heightens the sense of arrival, evoking both surprise and a serene atmosphere.

The banquet hall is designed to serve not only as a venue for celebrations but also, at times, as a cafe open to the public. Soft, curved forms define the ceiling and the central counter, while a natural color palette and hand-applied plaster finishes create a warm and inviting atmosphere. In contrast, the custom wooden tables arranged around the counter feature a clean, linear design. This interplay between organic and geometric forms gives the tables a quiet yet distinctive presence, creating a spatial focal point that symbolizes people gathering and connecting through food.

The reservation-only restaurant is designed as an intimate, private setting where guests can fully immerse themselves in a unique dining experience. While the overall lighting is kept to a minimum, each table is individually illuminated like a spotlight, allowing every beautifully presented dish to take center stage and deepening guests' focus on the meal.

Set within the tranquil waterfront setting that defines Yokohama Timber Wharf, the space offers a new kind of experiential destination, where architecture, landscape, and hospitality come together to create memorable moments.

+SHIFT TAMACHI (now Expert Tamachi) is an 11-story speculative office building located along the Shibaura Canal, a five-minute walk from Tamachi Station in Tokyo. DRAFT designed the building comprehensively, from the exterior façade and shared areas to every office floor.
