H¹O Toranomon

An Open Lounge Connecting Land and Business

In Tokyo’s Toranomon district, a new hub of Nomura Real Estate Development’s H¹O series designed by DRAFT was born. Toranomon’s name originates from the nickname given to the gate of Edo Castle located on the outer moat. With the “gateway” that serves a role of welcoming visitors as our inspiration, we designed the common lounge leveraging gate and arch elements.

A rounded look was adopted for everything including the ceiling beams, sofa, bracket lights, and so on. The design incorporated a coffered ceiling as an element often featured in prestigious chambers, and the lighting plan meticulously focused on delicate light. With businesspersons active both in Japan and on a global stage as our focus, DRAFT endeavored to create a deeply sophisticated lounge with various accents alluding to traditional Japanese style.
The back of the lounge offers two fully equipped online meeting booths for single-person use to support non-contact business proceedings, as well as various strategies to accommodate a diversity of work styles, including furniture arrangement to suit the individual needs that have recently emerged. The lounge, which is positioned at the end of a corridor, lets in gentle light from the north to create a relaxing space where one can enjoy panoramic views of the main street. Of the many H¹O spaces, the Toranomon location exudes an unrivaled global and prestigious presence.

Legaseed

An Office Piquing Curiosity

A flow line plan accommodating infinite migration and embodying the trajectory since the company’s founding; much like the evolution process of the planet and the human race. DRAFT’s aim for Legaseed’s new office was to create value for the people visiting it by incorporating an abundance of elements stimulating people’s senses and piquing their curiosity.
