DRAFT is pleased to announce the launch of our new furniture brand 201˚(Two-hundred-one degree) from October 2, positioning it as a product that can more closely and with more freedom promote rapidly progressing "working-style reform" of Japanese firms. In recent years, long working hours and "working-style reform" aimed at improving labor productivity are challenges for many Japanese companies and are social issues that even the Japanese Government emphasizes. Among them, office Environment Improvement is seen as particularly important, and the number companies that are making major remodeling of office space together with relocation is increasing year by year.

201° is a product brand centering around office furniture, which captures the problem of working way as a more familiar issue.

The first release comprises a total of 15 types, including a booth that can easily create a centralized space and a meeting bench ideal for casual meetings. Basic hues matching any type of space, the texture of the material and fine details gained popularity, and already before the release, several major companies went ahead with their deployment.
The brand name 201° signifies our will to create from a unique viewpoint, expanding the field of view by 1° from 200°, which is said to be the average field of view for human beings. With a spread of only 1°, we will create a change in how to spend time in the space and working-style, we will continue to create a space that did not exist before. That is our longing.

Scenes of product prototyping and structural testing

Interior designer Taiju Yamashita is the creative director of 201°. From the experience of working on many office design projects, we materialized in the products our wishes that we ourselves "wanted to use" and "wanted to spend time" matching the space. With a little idea and addition of playfulness, furniture in the everyday environment can make work so much more enjoyable. We would like to change the office space into one with more freedom and more fun.
