DAFT about DRAFT is a new brand by Taiju Yamashita that creates products which people will want in their lives for many years from free and intricate concepts similar to fashion. On Saturday, August 27th, 2022, the flagship store will have its Grand Opening in Omotesando, Tokyo. This store will feature an area where anyone is free to drop in, as well as a reservation-only salon for which we have started taking reservations.

DAFT about DRAFT is a brand born from designs gradually compiled by designer, Taiju Yamashita, while engaging in various projects. He has always wanted to propose a way for people to style their lives in their unique way, just like choosing their wardrobe, rather than the standardization and homogenization common today. Our products express our playful heart that wants to design with freedom and humor, rather than being stuck in stereotypes.

DAFT about DRAFT’s creator, Taiju Yamashita, is a designer active on many stages, including interior/architectural design, and urban planning. He handles many projects every day and thinks of furniture as the final piece of the puzzle completing a space and expressing the people that will spend time there; similar to the concept of fashion. Taiju has constantly pursued original designs to express those elements he felt were lacking in the world of creation. DAFT about DRAFT products are conceived with the hope of crafting stories simply by casually occupying a space with freedom of expression. DAFT about DRAFT’s worldview originates from the elaborate and unique products born from creative perspectives not bound by stereotypes.
