New Landmark Facility “YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF” to Open on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Rinko Park, Yokohama’s Minato Mirai 21 District
We are planning to hold an open-air cinema event over three days, from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19, to celebrate the grand opening.
DRAFT is leading the project development and operations of a new mixed-use facility located in Rinko Park, the largest green space within Yokohama’s Minato Mirai 21 District. The facility, officially named “YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF,” is scheduled to open on Friday, October 17, 2025. The architectural design is led by architect and designer Taiju Yamashita, founder of Taiju Yamashita Design and Architecture, who envisions a landmark that blends seamlessly with the scenic views of Yokohama Port from Rinko Park.
To commemorate the opening and showcase the appeal of both YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF and Rinko Park, an outdoor cinema event is planned over three days, from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Overview of “YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF”
“YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF” is a new development located in Rinko Park, the largest green space in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama. Situated in a scenic area featuring a seaside promenade and expansive grassy lawns, this new hub will be home to a multi-purpose facility including a cafe and amenities to support outdoor recreation. Through its development and operation, the project aims to enhance the flow of visitors in central Yokohama’s waterfront area and to create new appeal for the city.
The project is led by DRAFT, serving as the representative company, while architectural design is overseen by Taiju Yamashita Design and Architecture.
Open-Air Cinema Event to Bring New Vibrancy to Rinko Park
To celebrate the grand opening of YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF, an open-air cinema event is scheduled to be held over three days, from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19. Taking place near the tidal pond adjacent to YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF—where the sea stretches out before you—the event will feature screenings of beloved classic films that can be enjoyed by both adults and children. We are also preparing additional elements to enhance the movie-going experience. Set in a spacious and breezy location, the event aims to create a new source of vibrancy in Rinko Park, a popular public gathering place. Screening schedules and further details will be announced at a later date.
CRAZY, Inc. to Open on the 2nd and 3rd Floors
CRAZY, Inc., a company specializing in wedding services, will open on the 2nd and 3rd floors of YOKOHAMA TIMBER WHARF. In addition to offering restaurant and wedding services, part of the facility will also include functions to support outdoor recreation, catering to runners, walkers, and other outdoor activity users. The restaurant and recreation support facilities are scheduled to open around January 2026, with wedding services expected to launch around April 2026.
Additionally, a bakery cafe set to open on the first floor will begin operations on the facility’s opening day—Friday, October 17, 2025. Further details on the tenants will be shared at a later date.
